The magic of love, laughter, and lyrical storytelling returns to Benicia this fall as Benicia Theatre Group proudly presents the timeless musical The Fantasticks, running October 17 – November 9, 2025, at the historic B.D.E.S. Hall in downtown Benicia.
The production is helmed by Adria Swan, a Benicia native and rising force in Bay Area community theatre. Swan’s first project with Benicia Theatre Group — the 2024 smash hit The Odd Couple — was a resounding success and is currently nominated for eight Arty Awards, including Outstanding Comedy/Drama, Best Director, Best Lead Actor, and multiple Best in Technical Theatre honors recognizing excellence in set, lighting, and costume design.
We are proud to bring this iconic production back to the Benicia Theatre Group stage. Written by Tom Jones with music by Harvey Schmidt, The Fantasticks is a poetic and poignant coming-of- age story that explores love, imagination, and the bittersweet beauty of growing up. Filled with wit, whimsy, and one of musical theatre’s most cherished scores — including the beloved classic “Try to Remember” — the show has enchanted audiences around the world for more than six decades.
Performances take place Friday & Saturday evenings at 8 PM, Sunday matinees at 2 PM.
