English composer Alice Verne-Bredt’s Phantasie Trio unfolds in shadowy textures and dramatic surges, possibly its premiere performance in this part of the Bay Area! French virtuoso Cécile Chaminade brings brilliance and turbulence in her first piano trio, where fiery strings meet a glittering, driving piano part, showcasing the virtuosity of each performer.

In her Piano Trio in D minor, Fanny Mendelssohn balances stormy urgency with luminous lyricism, culminating in a finale that builds to triumphant release.​

Performed by musicians Nigel Armstrong, Brady Anderson, and Jon Lee, this program presents the piano trio at full Romantic scale: passionate, expansive, and vividly alive.
