A Chicago native, he cut his teeth playing alongside legends like Sunnyland Slim, James Cotton, and Koko Taylor (appearing on her Grammy-winning Blues Explosion).
With more than 50 album credits—including acclaimed solo releases like Come On In This House and Lonesome Flight—Freund brings both history and heart to every performance. Now based in the Bay Area, he continues to tour internationally, sharing his deep feel for the blues with audiences around the world.
