René Escovedo, born to the famed Escovedo family, is also a touring percussionist with Con Funk Shun, the legendary R&B and funk band, that throughout the years has had four consecutive Golds and one Platinum album, 20 hit singles including 8 Top Ten R&B Hits, among other artistic achievements.

He is also the founder and leader of four bands, The Fuse, a powerful original fusion-based instrumental ensemble, Son Sabroso/Salsa Classico, A Latin Jazz Trio & Funky Cha, Soul Funk Reggae.
