Billy Bragg: A People's History U.S. Book Launch

  • Alibi Bookshop 624 Marin Street Vallejo, CA, 94590 United States (map)

We are proud to present the ONLY United States launch to celebrate the release of Billy Bragg’s new book, “Billy Bragg — A People’s History” on Sunday, November 30th at 5:30 pm, featuring local contributors and personalized pre-recorded videos from Richard Houghton of Spenwood Books and Billy himself! (No, Billy will not be here, but he will definitely be participating from across the pond.)

This very special event, co-hosted by writer Sarah Cain, will feature in-person readings and presentations from local contributors; video greetings from publisher Richard Houghton; and readings, reminicinces, and Q&A* from Billy. There will even be Billy-inspired snacks, and a trivia contest! (And of course a Billy playlist.) It’s going to be such a fun party!

You must have a ticket for entry

This event is free to attend, but there is a special pre-order option which includes:

  • 1 copy of Billy Bragg- A People’s History (pick up at event)

It is a huge honor to be the only U.S host, and we are so grateful to (and for!) Billy, Spenwood Books, and Sarah @spiritedsweetschocolates for making this magic happen! We hope to see you there!

*To submit a question for Billy to answer, you must pre-order a copy of the book.

About the Book:

“Billy Bragg – A People’s History” is an oral history of the British singer-songwriter and political activist in the words of people who have been moved by his music. Containing over 600 fan memories of seeing Billy in concert, at a demonstration or on an album or TV, “Billy Bragg – A People’s History” is the story of the Bard of Barking as it’s never been told before. Whether singing about love, politics, or social activism, Billy Bragg has been inspiring fans through his music and sparking political debate with his opinions for more than 40 years. With memorabilia from Billy’s personal archive and reflections from the man himself, this beautiful book spans Billy’s career in music, from his days with the punk-inspired Riff Raff through to the present day.
