WIN GREAT PRIZES!

This Month's Question

Of course the late cartoonist  Charles Schulz is best known for the comic stirp Peanuts, but what was the name Schulz's first regular comic?

The correct answer will be rewarded with a gift basket of tea from The Spice & Tea Exchange at PIER 39. ($39.95 value)
Email your answer here.

Congratulations to Lydia Ramirez of Benicia, whose name was drawn from those who correctly answered "1901" to last month's question: St. Peter's Chapel on Vallejo's Mare Island was the first Naval chapel built on the West Coast, and it is now the oldest Naval chapel in the nation. In what year was the St. Peter's built?

Lydia wins two (2) Red & White Fleet Golden Gate Bay Cruises ($72.00 value).

Did you know that in 2010 Golf World Magazine's Readers' Choice Awards recognized Vallejo's  Hiddenbrooke Golf Club as the #9 Best Public Golf Course in the Nation? Hiddenbrooke was the only course in the San Francisco Bay Area that made the top 50 list.

Did you know that the Benicia Historical Museum is located in the former U.S. Army Arsenal's Camel Barn Complex? In the 1850's and 1860's, the US Army experimented using camels, imported from the Mideast, as pack animals. After the advent of the Civil War the experiment was abandoned. The remaining camels were shipped to the Benicia Arsenal where they were auctioned to the public.
