WIN GREAT PRIZES! Monthly Trivia
This Month's Question

How old is Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's Orca Whale "Shouka"?

The correct answer will be rewarded with two (2) Vallejo Baylink Ferry Passes ($48.00 value). Email your answer here.

Congratulations to Char Barros of Vallejo, whose name was drawn from those who correctly answered "1996" to last month's question: What year did Mare Island close as a Naval Shipyard?

Char wins two (2) Vallejo Baylink Ferry Passes ($48.00 value).
Did you know that in 1996 to manage the installation of rides at Marine World Africa USA, the City of Vallejo hired Premier Parks which later became Six Flags Theme Parks, Inc?

Did you know in 1850,
Commodore John Drake Sloat was ordered to lead a surveying party in quest of a logical site for the nation's first Pacific naval installation.  Sloat, who had claimed California for the United States four years earlier at Monterey, recommended the island  across the Napa River from the little settlement of Vallejo. This long, low segment of land had been called Isla Plana by the first settlers of the region.
