This Month's Question

The tradition of the Pista sa Nayon dates back centuries to the rural areas and towns of the Philippines. What does "Pista sa Nayon" translate to in English?

The correct answer will be rewarded with two (2)
Red & White Fleet's Golden Gate Bay Cruise Passes ($72.00 value). Email your answer here.

Congratulations to Delpha Slavens of Vallejo, whose name was drawn from those who correctly answered "1987" to last month's question: In what year was the Vallejo CVB established?

Delpha wins two (2) PIER 39 Premier Passes ($80.00 value).
Did you know that Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States? Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas, with the news that the Civil War had ended and the enslaved were now free. Note that this was two and a half years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.
Did you know that Pirates believed that having women on board their ship was bad luck. They also believed that whistling on a ship would cause the weather to turn stormy (as in 'to whistle up a storm').
