Unfortunately, we did not receive an entry correctly answering last month’s Trivia Question so we will try it again as this month’s question and we will sweeten the prize package.

If you are frequent walker or runner along Vallejo’s waterfront, you will see a propeller from an unidentified Navy ship. Can you name the ship? (Hint: it was badly damaged by a typhoon in Samoa in March 1889.)

Please email your answers to
info@visitvallejo.com. The winner chosen from a drawing of correct entries will win a $30.00 gift certificate for Zio Fraedo’s of Vallejo restaurant and two tickets aboard the Blue & Gold Fleet’s NEW Rocket Boat high speed adventure on the San Francisco Bay (Value $23 each).

The Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum presents “A Symphony of Gardens” 2009 Vallejo Garden Tour on Sunday, May 17th. Did you know that the Museum’s periscope is from the WWII submarine USS Baya? This vessel was not built at Mare Island but was decommissioned there.

On Sat. & Sun. May 2nd & 3rd the Vallejo Yacht Club will host the 110th Great Vallejo Race. Did you know that organized in 1900, the Vallejo Yacht Club is one of only 7 yacht clubs on the west coast that have reached their Centennial?
