Visit Vallejo

Welcome back to more news and special events from V-Town Views, the e-newsletter from the Vallejo Convention and Visitors Bureau!
Christopher Columbus’ favorite ship, the Niña, is coming to Vallejo beginning Thursday, September 4th through Tuesday, September 9th. Owned and operated by the Columbus Foundation in the British Virgin Islands, this authentic replica will be docked at the Vallejo Marina and open for walk aboard self-guided tours. Beginning in 1492, The Niña was one of the three ships that Columbus sailed across the Atlantic on the historic voyages to discover a new world.
The ship was last heard of in 1501, but the new Niña has a different mission as a floating museum and visiting ports all over the United States. Vallejo is one of the last cities on the west coast to receive a visit from this famous ship on this current tour. Hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm each day. Click here for more.

Book your hotel today to attend one of these great events and make Vallejo your home base to experience other area attractions like the Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum, the Jelly Belly Candy Company, Mare Island tours or take a scenic ferry to San Francisco’s Ferry Building Marketplace or PIER 39.

And the wine country is only minutes from Vallejo where you can enjoy the famous Napa Valley Wine Train or wine tastings at Cartlidge and Browne, Black Stallion Winery, Domaine Carneros or V. Sattui.

In 2008, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom introduced the all new spinning roller coaster named Tony Hawk’s Big Spin. One of the guests’ favorite coasters at Discovery Kingdom is Medusa, the first floorless roller coaster on the West Coast. This month’s question is a two-parter and entrants must answer both correctly to be eligible for the drawing: What year was Medusa introduced and what is the top speed reached while riding this thrill ride? The winner will receive a free Six Flags Discovery Kingdom t-shirt (size: large only).
