Vallejo welcomes a new event to the Solano County Fairgrounds on December 13th, Pasko Expo, a special Filipino Holiday Celebration. In honor of this event, this month’s question is about the Filipino Community Center. Before its current location on Sonoma Boulevard, what street was the Vallejo Filipino Community Center located?
Please email your answers to info@visitvallejo.com. The winner chosen from a drawing of correct entries will win two tickets on the Red & White Fleet’s Golden Gate Bay Cruise (a $44 value).
Congratulations to Val Logan, from Vallejo, CA whose name was drawn from those who correctly answered with The Hall of History to last month’s question:
What is the name of the Vallejo Museum’s exhibit hall which is used for special exhibits and available to rent for meetings and events?
Val received two tickets to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (valued at $60.00).

Did you know that Vallejo’s first bed and breakfast, the Starr Mansion, was built by Abraham Dubois Starr in 1869--an aristocrat, local politician and friends with the social elite in the San Francisco bay area? So very active in politics, in 1873 A.D. Starr traveled to Philadelphia as a delegate to the Republican convention, which nominated Ulysses S. Grant for re-election. And don’t miss the Starr Mansion’s Holiday Wine Tasting on Friday, December 5th! |

On Friday, December 12th, the Empress Theatre presents on their big screen, holiday favorite and the 1954 classic White Christmas. Did you know that the railroad station and passenger cars in the film are said to be in Vermont when in fact they are Southern Pacific Standard Design Station and SP Harriman coaches never used outside of SP service territory? |
