Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: With a brand new name, this one-of-kind theme park (formerly Six Flags Marine World) brings together interactive animal attractions and the best family rides and roller coasters in Northern California. America's original combination wildlife park, oceanarium and theme park features 135 acres of roaring good times. From Shouka, the beautiful killer whale to Medusa, a fast, fearless world-class roller coaster to a well-known "wascally rabbit," Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This premier destination offers something for everyone in the family with marine life, wildlife, fast and furious rides and spectacular shows for the entire family to enjoy!

Historic Mare Island: Take a tour of the first naval installation on the west coast. Tours include St. Peter's Chapel, which is home to the west's largest collection of Tiffany stained glass windows. You will also visit the shipyard commander's mansion and the new Mare Island Artifact Museum.

Vallejo Baylink Ferry: Leave your car in Vallejo and ride on one of the city's high speed catamarans to San Francisco. Vallejo ferries serve Fisherman's Wharf and PIER 39, and give you easy access to see the San Francisco Giants play baseball at SBC Park.

Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum: Learn more about California's first state capital and historic Mare Island at Vallejo's own museum. Highlights include a working periscope from a World War II submarine.

Solano County Fair: Carnival rides and games, exhibits, and live horse racing all highlight Vallejo's annual county fair. 2011 summer's fair dates are August 3-7.

Championship Golf: Players of all ability will find a challenge at one of Vallejo's great golf courses during the lovely summer weather. Blue Rock Springs Golf Course offers 36 holes of challenging golf while Hiddenbrooke Golf Course, a demanding Arnold Palmer designed layout, is rated by Golf Digest magazine as one of the top-rated courses in Northern California. The historic Mare Island Golf Course was founded in 1892 and is one of the oldest golf courses west of the Mississippi River.
