Solano County's 823 square miles are conveniently located in Northern California between San Francisco and Sacramento and at the southern end of the Napa Valley. While parts of Solano County are situated on beautiful San Pablo Bay, Suisun Bay, and the Sacramento River delta, the inland areas of the county offer acres of open agricultural land. Our varied geographic location allows access to diverse areas, making all types of location filming projects possible. Filming in Solano County is easy and inexpensive, and parts of the county are located within the 30-mile San Francisco production zone.
Access: Solano County can be accessed by Oakland, Sacramento, and San Francisco International Airports. General aviation can utilize Vacaville, Rio Vista, Napa, and Concord airports. Solano County is linked to San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento by automobile via Interstate 80.
Climate: Ranges from a warm, Mediterranean climate in the summer and fall (with cooler, pleasant nights) to cooler winter temperatures. The average high temperature for summer months is 71°F and the average low is 48°F in the winter. The average rainfall each year is approximately 16 inches, which falls primarily during the winter months.
