The 70 original strips in this exhibition feature the Great Pumpkin vigil, the Easter Beagle’s joyous romp, and ringing in the New Year with Snoopy and Woodstock.

Spooky tales of the paranormal history of Benicia are revealed on this exciting, interactive and fun Ghost Walk led by a paranormal investigator Devin Sisk and/or sensitive Donna Raymond. Use special ghost detecting tools like pendulums, divining rods, and K-II meters. No children under ten (10) years of age are permitted on tours. Tours on the first and third Fridays of the month.

Learn about the friendly horses and goats, and participate in their daily care. Wear sturdy work clothes and tough shoes because this is a "hands-on" experience. You will put a halter on a horse, learn to lead horses safely, brush them, clean their feet and clean their stalls. Everyone will have a chance to sit on a horse (helmets are required and provided, keep hairstyle simple for easy fit). Kids will receive a souvenir t-shirt! Gates open at 8 a.m. for each event, with racing spanning from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Cost for spectators is $15, while cost for competitors is as follows: High School and Trophy ($25); Association classes ($35); Sportsman or Motorcycle ($40); Pro or Super Pro ($60).

Charles Schulz took great pride in producing an aesthetically pleasing and well-designed comic strip. He knew exactly what he was looking for in the design of a Peanuts comic strip, but found the explanation of the process elusive: "it's as difficult as explaining what a poem is about," he said. Learn more about Schulz's process from the tools he used to the research he undertook in this exhibition of the original comic strips, photographs, and research material.

Hear some of Verdi’s most melodious music including his exciting Anvil Chorus sung by Spanish gypsies. It is full of dramatically powerful scenes: tales of flames at the stake, kidnapping and revenge master-minded by Azucena, the conniving gypsy woman; a mysterious troubadour and Leonora who loses her heart to him; the drama of war waged on a castle fortress; and two brothers separated at birth who unknowingly become mortal enemies. Set in Spain in the early 15th century, the story is told by three separate, intertwining sub-plots, rich with colorful history.

Safe Powerboat Handling Course $50. US Coast Guard & NASBLA Approved. This 16-hour hands-on, on-the-water course is for anyone who wants to learn how to safely operate a small motorboat and improve their boathandling skills on actual boats. The US Coast Guard and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course and an increasing number of states have recognized it as meeting their requirements for a state boating safety education certificate. These national and state approvals call for the course to include a total of six to eight hours of classroom sessions covering required education topics.

Basic Keelboat $50. The Basic Keelboat course will teach you the basic elements of sailing including terminology, boat setup, wind direction and points of sail, sail trim, tacking, jibing, reefing. You'll also learn the more advanced elements of sailing, including close quarter maneuvering, docking, anchoring, navigation rules, and crew overboard recovery. Upon successful completion you will be issued a US SAILING Log Book with Basic Keelboat certification. Cal Maritime’s Basic Keelboat course is taught in the J-22s by US SAILING certified instructors. Classes are Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm at the California Maritime Academy.
